Lake Nakuru National park lies about 165 KM north of Nairobi on the floor of the great rift valley. Visitors enjoy wide ecological diversity and varied habitats ranging from the Lake to surrounding escarpment and ridges.
The lake is home to thousands of flamingos among other different bird species such as herons, pelicans, egrets, storks and plovers. Other wildlife seen include Black and white rhinoceros, Rothschild giraffe, Olive baboon, vervet monkey, waterbuck, impala and zebra. Predators seen include leopard, hyena, jackal and lions.
